A beautiful view of Balboa Pier on a warm summer late afternoon is seen through Dory Fleet Market. I am with Lynn, in Newport Beach, California, scouting for our next location for a photography project. I came across Dory Fleet Market, a historical landmark, which was built in late 1891. I thought these photos are artistic because the photos captured a view of two historical landmarks, Balboa Pier and Dory Fleet Market. The black and white photos give a sense of historical moment in time.

Our first time at the 27th annual Tustin Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off was a blast (no pun intended!) in Tustin, California. There were the giant Coors Light float, Pirates of the Chilibbean, the Bun Burner Chili Shack, Beach Pit BBQ, Total Wine, Old World Kettle Corn, carnival Pirate Ship, clown, Miss Tustin, and Harley-Davidson bikes. Oh, by the way, the chili were fantastic! Some chili were spicy, while other chili had a sweetness taste. There were chili that had ground beef and other chili had small chuck of BBQ meat. BBQ meat was prepared on a flame grilled pit (Beach Pit BBQ). There was buffalo chili but we didn’t get to try it. Funnel cakes, fresh kettle corn, grilled onion corns, hot links, bratwursts, and hot dogs were also draw lots of people to the event. The carnival rides, face painting, concert entertained the thousands of people passing through. I can’t wait to try more chili next year. There are more Chili Cook-Off photos in the Chef’s Choice site.

Christian Rock Festival [June 4, 2011] located on the north side of the Huntington Beach Pier featuring Shachah, Root Down, Rapture Ruckus, Sweet Chariot, and Cross Eyes. The bands played great music. I got a chance to take some nice photos and I saw a competitive volley game. Overall, a great afternoon to be at the beach with Lynn. Oh yeah, check out the pink dog! If you look closer you can see two other dogs, with one that was painted like a tiger! How cool is that?

Blog #15 – Bike The Drive In Chicago
In June 15, 2003 I participated in the second Bike The Drive in Chicago. The event was to raise funds for Chicago area’s bicycle transportation network. Bike The Drive is taking place on May 29, 2011. For more information you can go to Bike The Drive to learn more about this event. I hope to return to Chicago to take part in the tradition in the near future. You can see here that I stopped on Lake Shore Drive during the bicycle ride to take a few photos. One bicyclist was helpful to stop to take a photo of me on a Klein mountain bike. For reference, I was using a Kodak 35mm disposable camera ISO-400 with Flash.

Blog #14 – Mike Scioscia 1,000th Win As Manager Of The Los Angeles Angels
On the day the Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated from a chance for a third repeat of the NBA title, Mike Scioscia won his 1,000th win as manager of the Los Angeles Angels. Let’s not forget that today is Mother’s Day. The Angels were giving out lady hats for all the mothers at the game. As for the game, the Angels defeated the Cleveland Indians, 6-5 to stay in first place. There was a SEA OF RED fans throughout the stadium. Several Rally monkey appearance and the Anaheim WAVE were seen in the late innings. It was one memorial day I won’t forget in the history of Angels baseball. See more photos here.
